History
Pine Hills Country Club has been a family owned and operated business since 1965. The course was developed where our current Par 3 course is today and over the duration of ten years, evolved into the current 18 hole regulation course and nine hole Par 3 course. Built and designed by our late uncle, Andrew “Hank” Evanish, Pine Hills Country Club is a public golf course that was envisioned to be “a country club open to everyone”.
In the Spring of 1998, the ownership of the course was transferred to family members, Gregg and Scott Kozar and Eric Duffy. A master plan, created by Ronald C. Cutlip (Cutlip Golf Design), was then put into place. Since 1998, the partnership has placed an emphasis on reinvestment into the course, spending over 1 million dollars in irrigation, cart paths, tees, greens, equipment and buildings. The investment has paid off.
Because of over 20 dedicated employees, Pine Hills has been awarded “Best Public Golf Course” for three years and has been a two time finalist for the Scranton Chamber of Commerce “Small Business of the Year Award”. The course typically hosts over 50 tournaments a year and has donated thousands of dollars to charities and organizations that these tournaments represent.
Pine Hills is continually making improvements to its business model and is proud to be a part of our local community by keeping Pine Hills the country club open to everyone.
